
All Kakira products are 100% ‘grass to glass’, meaning that all the steps of the making of Kakira are ‘in house’ from the growing and harvesting of the sugarcane to the skilful distillation, blending and aging of the spirits. Moreover, they are all award winning (IWSC, San Francisco, Monde Selection, etc.)
The final products are cut with water from Lake Victoria at the source of the River Nile in Uganda and the entire estate is powered by renewable energy from waste cane fibre, making the whole estate carbon neutral
Kakira provides its employees with 4,500 houses, including free electricity and water, free healthcare from the Kakira’s 72 bed hospital and free education to employee’s families from 16 estate owned primary schools and 1 estate owned secondary school.
